‎My husband, who only eats when the lights are off, wasn’t at the dining table. The moment I turned the lights on, the dining room was empty. The food was gone. And on the table, something crawled, long and slimy, like an earthworm.

‎I staggered backward, ready to run. Out of fear, I shouted, “Honey! Where are you?”

‎To my surprise, he walked calmly out of the kitchen, smiling.
‎“You look scared. What’s wrong?” he asked, stepping closer.

‎“Don’t come near me! You’re making me scared. I don’t understand you anymore!”

‎He raised his brows.
‎“How? What do you mean?”

‎“Stop pretending! The lights were off, you sat here to eat. But when I turned them on, you were gone! I only saw something crawling on the table!”

‎ He walked to the table, pretending to look shocked.

‎“Where is it then?”

‎I turned and froze. The table was clean. We even checked under it, nothing.

‎“Honey, relax,” he said softly. “There’s nothing. I finished eating and kept the plate. Maybe I just ate too fast. The food was delicious. Stop imagining things.”

‎He pulled me into his arms. Tears rolled down my cheeks, and I didn’t even know why.

‎That night, after a brief discussion, he whispered, “Honey, it’s bedtime.”

‎“You go,” I said, pretending to watch a movie. He kissed my forehead and went to bed.

‎But I just stared at the screen, my mind far away. Is my husband for real? What do I do? Should I leave? But my marriage isn’t even months old… what would people say? Maybe this whole thing is nothing serious. Maybe I’m the one making it a big deal.

‎After a long silence, I decided I would share my worries with his close friend, our neighbor. Maybe he would have something to say.

‎The next morning, before work, I met him and explained everything. His face went pale.

‎“That’s strange… I’ve known your husband for years. I can’t believe this. You know what, tonight, when he eats, text me. I’ll come over. If it’s true, then I’ll advise you to involve your family, and then something must be done urgently.”

‎I nodded, relieved. But I never knew he was already aware and part of something darker with my husband.

‎That evening, I came home early, not feeling well. Inside, I heard my husband rush back, he had forgotten something. Before he got to the door, our neighbor called him. They didn’t know I was home. I stood by the window, listening.

‎“I told you… I don’t trust your wife. I knew one day she would interrupt. Imagine what she did last night.” our neighbour said.

‎“How did you know?” my husband asked.

‎“She told me everything this morning.”

‎My husband’s face froze in surprise.

Then our neighbor leaned closer and whispered, “Do the needful… before it’s too late.”

‎My husband replied, “She’s carrying my child.”

‎And our neighbor said, “So what are you waiting for?”

‎Standing by the window, tears filled my eyes. I was confused and scared. I couldn’t hold it anymore, and I didn’t even realize when I shouted: “Oh my God!”

‎Then slowly, they turned toward the window
